GCP stands for Guild Contribution Points. Authorization for the GCP system is explicitly given in our guild policy 7.
We use GCP to benchmark how much our members are contributing, because in Tenebrarum every member will put in more than he takes out. It is a quantitative measure of contribution, be it harvesting, crafting, helping with quests, etc. Everyone, officers and GM included, will contribute to make our legion stronger.
Our Finance and Crafting Officer administers our GCP system.
There are three ways that one can earn contribution:
(i) Complete guild work orders. These are generally harvest material X or craft item Y.
(ii) Show up for certain guild events. Predetermined guild events have an associated contribution value for participating, including helping with QuestHelper events.
(iii) Officers have the ability to give out spot contribution for those that have done something above and beyond.
You can use your contribution to:
(i) Buy pots, scrolls, food, or other consumables from the guild.
(ii) Buy craftable expert grade equipment.
(iii) Bid on raid boss drops. A minimum bid will be set. If no one can currently afford the item, then an auction will be held.
So, in summary, guild contrubtion points are a form of internal guild currency. They are kind of like a DKP system, but it is far, far more comprehensive. Use these points wisely, because you can use them to gear yourselves out cheaper than you it would cost you to buy your equipment with kinahl plus, you are helping your guild by using this system!! |
