Tenebrarum was founded by Cazzmaran and Ruko, ages ago it seems but first, let us venture back to the beginning.

The Beginning

Back in the days of text based MUDs, there was a little boy, known only to the online community as "Lord Silent Death," commonly referred to LSD for short (no, not the drug).  LSD was told by some friends about a new upcoming game, Meridian 59 ("M59").  LSD rather excited and immediately purchased M59.  He began playing it on a regular basis.  M59 was a game well ahead of its time.  It took the 3D environment of Duke Nukem, Castle Wolfenstein, and Doom and melded it with text-based MUDs, creating a new type of game, coined "MMORPGS," or massively mulptiplayer online role playing games.

Abandoning the name LSD due to (i) wanting a more mature handle and (ii) endlessly hating the multitude of bad jokes revolving around Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (the drug), LSD renamed himself Cazzmaran.  Having renamed himself and having been in several guilds in M59 for long period of time, Cazzmaran created a new guilds, The Crusaders of Righteousness, on server 102.  Ultimately, the guild was a failure, but it gave Cazzmaran valuable leadership experience and some queues of a failing or succeeding guild.

The Precussors

Several other games and guilds followed, with varying degrees of success:  The Crusaders of Righteousness (Everquest, Saryrn Server); The Crusaders of Righteousness (Final Fantasy XI); Elysium's Keep (World of Warcraft, Alliance), co-founded with Ruko; The Keep of Elysium (Everquest II, Mistmoore Server, Qeynos); and The Keep of Elysium (Age of Conan), co-founded with Ruko.

As noted above, one of Cazzmaran's real life friends had become interested in guild administration, so they acted in the capacity of co-GM for the founding of several guilds.

Warhammer

Ultimately, Cazzmaran wanted a guild known for it's end-game participation; he wanted his guild to become a major guild.  Cazzmaran and Ruko made their breakthrough guild when they again grouped up together and founded "Aegis" on Warhammer's Praag (Destruction).  They luckily landed a few talented recruitment officers early in Aegis's history: most notably Manmayonaise and Andraca.  Manmayonaise ninja invited people and then kicked unliked people later.  Andraca spent more time with them to determine if he liked them before recruiting.  Nonetheless, the guild grew to have literally hundreds of individual players in the guild, several of which were dedicated and very good at playing their classes.  Yet the attrition rate was higher than desired...

Aion

Time passed.  Ruko and Manmayonaise got tired of Warhammer and quit playing.  With even more time, Cazzmaran decided it was time to move on, and he began looking at the upcoming Aion.  He talked with several members of Aegis about going to Aion and most agreed.  Cazzmaran founded Tenebrarum on Seil as an Asmodian in Closed Beta.  Finally Tenebrarum is born.  With the help of several very intelligent and talented individuals from Praag—Psyclone, Gercio, Giggiddy, Tearlyss, Gutsgor, Scrooj, Ruko, Andraca, Hellkast, and others—Cazzmaran was able to affirm Tenebrarum.  In the meantime, Warhammer's Praag was suffering from a low server population.  The guildmember that Cazzmaran named his replacement as Aegis's guildlead, Ferellana, chose to move the then Aegis to server Dark Crag, adopting Tenebrarum as the new name for Aegis.  Thus, Tenebrarum went intergame.

Although the Warhammer guild ultimately collapsed, Tenebrarum Aion is Cazzmaran's strongest guild yet.  With all the experience of most of Tenebrarum Warhammer's officers and with the overall success of Aion, the guild thrives.

We are a force, with which to be reckoned.  We are strength, of which to be feared.  We are organized.  We are one.  We are Tenebrarum.
